News : ADAM LAMBERT

Adam Lambert is once again taking to Twitter to reveal details about his Nov. 23 debut album, "For Your Entertainment."

On Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 28), the "American Idol" singer told fans that his debut single will be the album's title track, which was produced by Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald (Britney Spears, Katy Perry).

In addition, Lambert shared news about collaborating with two well-known U.K. rock acts. "There is also a song called 'Soaked' written by Muse!" Lambert Tweeted. "Also a tune called "Music Again" written by Justin Hawkins of the Darkness!"

The singer also revealed that he wrote four songs on "For Your Entertainment: "Strut," "Aftermath," "Broken Open" and an exclusive iTunes track entitled "Down the Rabbit Hole."

Just yesterday (Oct. 27), Lambert unveiled the album cover for "For Your Entertainment," which boasts a decidedly glam, '80s-inspired aesthetic and represents a big departure from "Idol" covers past. In the Warwick Saint-photographed close-up, Lambert sports dramatic eyeliner and cobalt-blue hair and poses in front of a celestial backdrop, with one fingerless-gloved hand pressed to his cheek.

The cover immediately drew mixed reactions from fans, but Lambert spoke up in defense of the heavily airbrushed image.

"Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy," Lambert wrote. "It's an homage to the past. It IS ridiculous.

"For those that don't get it: oh well...Glad to have gotten your attention," added Lambert. "androgyny. Rock n Roll."

News : Michael Jackson

Even before the "This Is It" opening, Michael Jackson had earned $90 million in the past year, with most of it coming since his death five months ago.

That sizable sum put him third on the Forbes list of dead celebrities making the most money.

Jackson earned less than the $350 million that fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent scored in the past year, and the $235 million earned by the songwriting duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.

Forbes counted money earned from October 2008-October 2009, even for Jackson, who died June 25. But about $72 million -- or 80% of the $90 million earned in the past 12 months -- came after Jackson's death, said a spokesperson for GreenLight, a consultancy company that represents "delebs," their term for dead celebrities still earning money.

On Wednesday, Jackson -- along with AEG Entertainment and Sony -- began raking in money for next year's list as the concert-rehearsal documentary "This Is It" opened in 3,500 domestic theaters and around the world.

As for the rest of the Forbes list, it's the first time at No. 1 for Saint Laurent, who died in June 2008. And Rodgers and Hammerstein, who died in 1979 and 1960, respectively, are high on the list this time around courtesy of a $200 million acquisition of much of their catalog in April.

Coming in fourth is last year's No. 1, Elvis Presley, with $55 million; "The Lord of the Rings" author J.R.R. Tolkien is fifth with $50 million.

The rest of the Top 13 -- a Forbes deleb tradition -- consists of Charles Schulz, John Lennon, Theodor Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss), Albert Einstein, Michael Crichton, Jimi Hendrix, Aaron Spelling and Andy Warhol.

Together, the 13 delebs grossed $886 million in the past 12 months, by far the biggest total in the nine years that Forbes has put out its list. Last year, for example, the 13 top earned $194 million; the year before that was $232 million.

Those looking for a piece of two of the delebs on this year's list -- Warhol and Jackson -- can bid on the pop artist's silkscreen portrait of the King of Pop that is expected to fetch as much as $700,000 at an auction next month.

News: Beyonce and Lady Gaga TEAMING UP!

OMG! I’m slow! Last weekend, it has been announced that BEYONCE and LADY GAGA are joining forces for Bee’s upcoming single “Video Phone.”

An insider revealed the following

“On Oct. 7, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé were working on the video together at a studio in NYC. Everything on the set was being kept very hush-hush, and security was extremely tight.”

This is major, MAJOR! TWO big music forces coming together and doing their thing! It will be HUGE! Huger than a 12 incher!

“In the video, Beyoncé wears a feathered dress. And of course Lady Gaga wears something wild. The fashion is sick and insane.”

Anka gets credit for co-writing Jackson single

AP, Oct 13, 2009 2:28 am PDT

With a familiar high-pitched voice counting off one-two-three-four, a new Michael Jackson single debuted online Monday, prompting a hasty response from the singer's estate after Paul Anka revealed he was the song's co-writer.

"This Is It" is featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming documentary featuring the late superstar, but its genesis was actually in 1983 when it was written for a duets album Anka was recording.

The song was titled "I Never Heard," and Jackson and Anka are credited as co-authors on an early 1990s version recorded by the singer Sa-Fire.

Anka said Jackson's estate moved quickly to give him credit, promising Anka 50 percent of the song's profits.

"They did the right thing," Anka said. "I don't think that anybody tried to do the wrong thing. It was an honest mistake."

The string-backed ballad was released on the singer's official Web site and sent to radio stations. It gives advance publicity to the documentary, culled from footage of Jackson rehearsing for the concerts that he never got a chance to do.

Representatives of Jackson's estate acknowledged Anka's work in a prepared statement. Until Anka stepped forward, the song's history was a mystery.

"The song was picked because the lyrics were appropriate because of the name Michael gave his tour," the statement read. "We are thrilled to present this song in Michael's voice for the first time, and that Michael's fans have responded in unprecedented numbers."

Jay Sean Leads Packed Hot 100 Top Five

As previously reported, Jay Sean has halted the Black Eyed Peas' record reign atop the Billboard Hot 100. Sean's debut single "Down," featuring Lil Wayne, crowns the list with a 2-1 jump.
The Peas had held steady atop the Hot 100 for 26 consecutive weeks with "Boom Boom Pow" (12) and "I Gotta Feeling (14), smashing the prior mark of 19 straight frames in charge earned by Usher with two tracks in 2004. "Feeling" falls 1-5, the largest drop from the top since Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" dipped 1-6 on the chart dated July 5, 2008.

The battle for Hot 100 supremacy this week was extra fierce, as the chart's top five titles are separated by the tightest point margin in more than six years. Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." pushes 3-2, while also reaching the top 10 on Radio Songs/Hot 100 Airplay (12-9). Jay-Z rebounds 4-3, with help from Rihanna and Kanye West, on "Run This Town," while Jason DeRulo ascends 5-4 with his debut effort, "Whatcha Say."

Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" takes Greatest Gainer/Airplay honors for a second week, popping 7-6. Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10 are Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" (6-7), Mariah Carey's "Obsessed" (9-8), Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" (8-9) and Jay Z and Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind" (10-10).

The Hot 100's Greatest Gainer/Digital award goes to Owl City's "Fireflies," which beams 24-11. On Digital Songs, The title jumps 13-5 (125,000 paid downloads, up 82%). Iyaz's "Replay" also makes a large Hot 100 leap (51-24) on the strength of a digital bump (67,000, up 51%).

Four songs from the cast of the Fox TV breakout hit "Glee" dot the Hot 100. The ensemble bounds 85-28 with its cover of Queen's 1977 classic "Somebody to Love" and scores the Hot Shot Debut at No. 51 with its update of Heart's 1987 No. 1 "Alone." Its remake of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin' " re-enters at No. 76 after reaching No. 4 in June, and "Maybe This Time," featuring actress Kristin Chenoweth, opens at No. 88.

Other Hot 100 debuts include Foo Fighters' "Wheels" at No. 73. The first single from the band's "Greatest Hits," due Nov. 3, soars 11-2 on Rock Songs and 18-5 on Alternative Songs.

At No. 89, Kris Allen arrives with his first post-"American Idol" effort, "Live Like We Were Dying." He releases his debut album Nov. 17. Fellow pop-rock act Train returns to the Hot 100 for the first time since 2004, as "Hey, Soul Sister" starts at No. 98. The band launches a 28-city tour this month in support of its new album, "Save Me, San Francisco," due Oct. 27.

Alicia Keys Reveals 'Freedom' Details

Alicia Keys will be releasing her fourth studio album, "The Element of Freedom," on December 1st on MBK/J Records. The album's first single, "Doesn't Mean Anything," produced and written by Keys and longtime collaborator Kerry "Krucial" Brothers, is this week's Hot Shot debut on the Hot 100 at No. 61.

To promote the album and single, Keys will give the song its television debut performance on the "Regis and Kelly" show on Monday (Oct. 12th). An accompanying video to "Doesn't Mean Anything," directed by P.R. Brown, will premiere on PerezHilton.com on October 16th and will be available on all other music portals on October 17th.

"The music is really strong, and the drums are really aggressive, but my voice is vulnerable and delicate," Keys said in a statement about the album. Keys says she eliminated "all of the boundaries and all the limitations, so that you can feel your freedom and express your freedom in every way you possibly can and that's what I did with this album."

In addition to Brothers, the album features production from Jeff Brasker (Kanye West, Keri Hilson), among others.

"The Element of Freedom" is the follow up to Keys' 2007 album, "As I Am." Keys is also featured on Alejandro Sanz's latest single, "Paraiso Express" ("Looking For Paradise"), which is this week's Hot Shot debut on the Hot Latin Songs chart at No. 21.

Soulja Boy Arrested After Vacant House Video Shoot

Police say rapper Soulja Boy was charged with obstruction after telling officers that people gathered at an abandoned Georgia house were shooting a music video.

Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton said Friday that when officers arrived Wednesday night to investigate complaints, almost half of the 40 people assembled fled by foot. Later, a man identified as DeAndre Cortez Way, Soulja Boy's real name, returned and said the group was shooting a video.

The 19-year-old was charged with obstruction and bonded out of the Henry County jail on Thursday. A telephone call to his publicist was not immediately returned.

The rapper started an Internet dance craze several years ago with the hit "Crank That (Soulja Boy)." More recent hits include "Kiss Me Thru the Phone."

50 Cent Brings Together N.Y. Rap Elite, Taking 'Thisis50' Fest To L.A. and Atlanta

50 Cent held his first annual "ThisIs50" Fest at New York's Governor's Island last weekend, and considering his career has been tarnished with a number of hip hop feuds, the Queens rapper managed to bring together some of New York rap's elite for the event.
On the bill were Slaughterhouse, Uncle Murda, Maino, Corey Gunz, Young Trav, D-Block, Red Café, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Papoose, Ron Browz, Al Be Back and 50 Cent's own G-Unit crew. Additionally, Kid Cudi, Wale, Wyclef Jean and the two surviving members of 90s R&B group Intro took the stage as well.

"I had to touch base with everyone and everybody saw how it made sense to get together and make some real money. And then artists influenced other artists to join," 50 Cent told Billboard about how the concert came about. "A lot of the artists out here tonight deserve to be on a regular Summer Jam bill, but we have to make our own Summer Jam because they [radio stations] are not recognizing their [new rappers'] material."

50 also revealed he plans to take 50 Fest on the road, with scheduled stops in L.A. and Atlanta next. "Once they see us all here together at the same time with no issues, no incidents and no problems, they'll let us do it wherever we want," he said. "After Hot 97 [New York radio station that supported '50' fest], we're going to step to Power 106 in L.A. and then Atlanta and we'll continue moving around until we load the whole map up."

In the past, 50 Cent has had public disputes with rappers like Ja Rule, Fat Joe, The Game and most recently, Rick Ross, among others. Still, 50 assures fans can see him collaborate more closely with other artists, especially those from his hometown, moving forward. "In the future, don't be surprised when you see all of us collaborating and working together on different projects -- not necessarily a song, but something bigger," he says.

50 Cent's upcoming album, the oft-delayed "Before I Self Destruct," is now slated to be released on November 17th via G-Unit/Shady Records/Aftermath/Interscope Records.

NEWS: Lady GaGa drops ‘The Fame Monster’ album details

Lady Gaga announced today that she will release ‘The Fame Monster‘, a re-package of her 4 million-selling album ‘The Fame’. The album will include the entire breakthrough album ‘The Fame’, along with eight entirely new songs. ‘The Fame Monster‘ (Streamline/KonLive/Cherrytree/Interscope Records), deals with the seamier side of fame, as experienced by Gaga over the course of her last history-making year. The new version will be released on November 24, 2009.

Says Lady Gaga, “On my re-release ‘The Fame Monster’, I wrote about everything I didn’t write on ‘The Fame’. While traveling theworld for two years, I’ve encountered several monsters, each represented by a different song on the new record: my ‘Fear of Sex Monster,’ my ‘Fear of Alcohol Monster,’ my ‘Fear of Love Monster,’ my ‘Fear of Death Monster,’ my ‘Fear of Loneliness Monster,’ etc.”

“I spent a lot of nights in Eastern Europe, and this album is a pop experimentation with industrial/Goth beats, 90’s dance melodies, an obsession with the lyrical genius of 80’s melancholic pop, and the runway. I wrote while watching muted fashion shows and I am compelled to say my music was scored for them. I also composed a ballad for the album, “Speechless”, a song for my father, and it’s my favorite work of all. I wrote every piece on the road - no songs about money, no songs about fame. I wrote it for my fans, so I wrote everything in between.”

The first club-banging single, the RedOne-produced “Bad Romance“, will be released in early November. Other collaborators on the new tracks include Teddy Riley, Rodney Jerkins, Ron Fair and Fernando Garibay.

Lady Gaga is also in the process of planning her next tour after her co-headlining tour with Kanye West was canceled last week.

News: Beyonce Finally Comments On Kanye West’s VMA Antics

Okay so Bee has finally broken her silence about the whole Kanye issue. Looks like he is plain acting on his own accord trying to act like a Knight in uh, shiny armour, saving the damsel in distress. No wonder, if you guys remembered, Beyonce had a stunned expression when he went up almost immediately. She saw it coming. All I can say is, he should just mind his own business. Read more about it below !

According to mtv.com:

Though singer was mortified by stage-rush, she says Kanye ‘was standing up for art.’

At Billboard magazine’s annual Women in Music event (where she was named Woman of the Year), Beyoncé finally broke her silence on West’s stage storming — which, at this point, has been commented on by everyone from Green Day and Jay-Z to former President Jimmy Carter and current President Barack Obama. Though she understood the rapper’s intentions, B said she was mortified by his actions.

“Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award,’” Beyoncé told O: The Oprah Magazine editor Gayle King after accepting her award. “And when they didn’t call my name he was, like, completely shocked. And when he walked on the stage, I was like, ‘No, no, no!’ and then he spoke, and I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no!’
“But in the end, it ended up being a great night, and Taylor Swift did get her moment — and I didn’t have to make an acceptance speech,” she added, laughing.

Beyoncé was the inspiration behind Kanye West’s now-infamous onstage antics at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, but the “Single Ladies” singer had avoided making any comment on the matter — until Friday.
West has repeatedly apologized for his actions on his blog, on “The Jay Leno” show and to Swift herself. And late last week, it was announced that his Fame Kills tour with Lady Gaga had been canceled, a move that seemed to be in keeping West’s “Leno” show pledge that he will be taking time away from the public eye “to analyze how I’m gonna make it through the rest of this life and improve.”

News: Christina Aguilera Wraps New Album, Collaborates with Flo Rida

Producer Tricky Steward spilled the beans for the long waited Christina Aguilera album to Rap-Up.com.

“I’m working on Christina Aguilera’s album for next year. It’s just great. I wouldn’t say that it’s alternative, I wouldn’t say that it’s different. Christina’s always been an artist that moves the bar and that’s what the great ones do. They don’t stay in the same place for too long and this album is just another move for her.”

The hitmaking machine believes this album will take its place among Aguilera’s best work. “I really feel it’s one of her best bodies of work that I’ve heard since Stripped. I think it’s really, really amazing and I think it’s well put together.”

The record has something for everyone. “She’s mixing it up again. She’s singing R&B again, she’s doing pop. She’s doing it all, but she’s found a way to make it all meet in the middle because she’s so many different things. She’s a real serious musician, she’s a real serious pop artist, and she’s a real serious singer. She’s making all her audiences happy at the same time.”

The mother of one had previously revealed a collaboration with M.I.A. “I know that she did it,” confirmed Tricky, “and I know that there’s a lot of other cool features, like I know that she has Santigold and Flo Rida on there.”

Tricky enlisted the “Right Round” rapper for one of the cuts. “I put Flo Rida on my record because I love what he does. I think sometimes he doesn’t get credit for being as dope as he is, but he’s really dope.”

Fans will have to wait until next year for the album while the pop star focuses on Burlesque, her musical co-starring Cher. “She’s gonna do the film first. She didn’t want to not be able to promote this record because it’s gonna be a big record for her,” explained Tricky.

But rest assured that the futuristic-sounding project is on its way. “The album is finished. She’s mixing. She hasn’t made a final decision about what the first single is, but I know everyone feels good about their options.”

News: Mariah Carey Says “I’m Going To Be A Mom”

Don’t let that quote from In Touch Magazine fool ya. Although she looks “bloated” these days, she’s not pregnant. But she can’t wait to be a mom.

After going through so much throughout her career, she has never seemed more at peace. And why shouldn’t she? She’s got a man who writes her love notes each morning, even after a year-and-a-half of marriage. She is getting Oscar buzz for her gritty role in the upcoming movie Precious. And she and Nick definitely want to start a family!

Beyonce is slated to kick off the festivities on Thursday, Oct. 29. Aerosmith will wrap things up three days later. But the only way fans in the conservative Gulf city can see them is to buy tickets to the F1 race.

News: 50 Cent Calls Kanye/GaGa Tour “The Gay Tour

50 Cent is being a sore loser AS USUAL! Remember the lil’ competition between 50 and Kanye? For those who dont know, Kanye and 50 both released their albums on the same day and they were obviously competing on who can sell more that week! Of course Mr 50 cent who is no more relevant lost to shameless Kanye West! Years later he’s still keeping that grudge!

50 Cent was on the Angie Martinez radio show yesterday and when the station was about to give away tickets to Lady Gaga and Kanye West’s upcoming “Fame Kills” tour. 50 Cent reponded with “ah, the gay tour.”

He justified his comments saying that was what Lady Gaga was calling it. The deejay corrected him saying that Gaga had explained to Kanye that she had a large gay following. 50’s reply?

“What did Kanye say, ‘Me, too?’”

50 continued with his failed attempt at a joke:

“Kanye’s cool with the gay folk. I have nothing against them, but he’s cool with them. He goes and drops his video off to them…Ellen. Ellen DeGeneres. He went there to premiere his video. He’s conscious of the gay community and wants them to buy his CD.”

You can listen to the interview HERE.

News: Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt Says, Nicole Scherzinger Is Not A Friend

The Pussycat Dolls are… I don’t know. I’d like to say in this war that goes on forever.
To the extent when I hear news like this I have “What’s new” as a reponse.

Well, news is still news, so Kimberly has announced that Nicole is just a business associate and not a friend

According to sources:

“I get on well with most of the band but not everyone. Look, at the end of the day it’s a job – we all have our own lives to lead and our own projects going on,” Kimberley said, “I think of Nicole as just a business associate not as a friend. You cannot simply group girls together and just expect them to get on, can you? Life doesn’t work like that.” The 27-year-old added, “If Nicole left tomorrow, we could still carry on. I can see this band going on forever.”

Which reminds me, that is the exact thing one would say about that hated colleague in the office.

News: Ciara’s Fourth Studio Album Is On The Way

Ciara is apparently recording her fourth studio album and is almost done.
She will be working with The Dream & Tricky Stewart

According to sources:

Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and his songwriting partner The-Dream have been secretly spending the summer in the studio producing the entire follow-up to Ciara’s Fantasy Ride. Stewart broke the news to Rap-Up.com in an exclusive interview. “We’re doing the whole project,” he reveals. “We’re pretty good into it at this point. We’re about 14 songs deep right now.”The 23-year-old ATLien relocated to the West Coast to work on the album with Tricky and Dream, who crafted “High Price” and “Like a Surgeon” off this year’s Fantasy Ride. “She came out to L.A. to work with us. We’re out here making this record ’cause it feels good and the vibe is good,” says the Grammy-winning producer.

The as-yet-untitled effort will feature danceable tracks that have become Ciara’s signature. “This record obviously is gonna have tempo to it, but I think it’s gonna have even more substance than the last record,” Tricky discloses. “She dances and we always want to bring out what she does that other people don’t.”

Although Fantasy Ride boasted collaborations with a who’s who of the industry including Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, and Ludacris, the “Love Sex Magic” singer will be riding solo this time. “This album we wanted to take a few steps back and make it more about her, so the only feature is Dream. But the features that we do on this record will be remixes.”

The hitmaker even shared a couple song titles with Rap-Up.com. “I love ‘Speechless.’ I love this record called ‘Gifted.’ Those are two of my favorites. ‘Speechless’ is the record with her and Dream together.”

While there’s still the possibility of a release by the end of the year, it’s looking like 2010 will mark Super C’s return. “It’s a little up in the air, but there’s a chance that it might come this year. That was the goal, but at the same time, we didn’t want to rush anything. I think it’s looking more like a next year thing.”

Ciara is pulling out all the stops to make this her best work yet. “Right now, she’s on her grind, coming back, trying to make a better album than she made last time and get back to that mark where everybody knew that she was in the top tier of the female business.”
